According to most people, sticking to a healthy diet plan includes eating vegetables and fruit. But have you ever wondered how healthy are these products you consume.

After conducting several tests, the US Department of Agriculture has found out that around 65 percent of the tested samples of fruit and vegetables were positive for pesticides.

There goes the healthy food! No matter how healthy you feed yourself, the chemicals and pesticides found in most of these products can be extremely dangerous and can harm one’s health in many ways.

And it’s not only the consuming of the product that is bad for the health only, but the pollution of the environment and ground where the products are harvested has a great influence in toxifying the air we breathe as well.

Buying organic products might seem as the perfect choice, but yet, they are not very economical and not many can afford it.

Therefore, it’s essential to know how to clean the products you usually consume to keep your body healthy and well protected of these harsh chemicals found in almost every convenient product.

The Environmental Working Group is aiming to keep the people well informed about the types of food they buy and the chemicals found in them, making reports about the most and least chemically treated vegetables and fruits.

They’ve made a list of the highly treated products, commonly referred as “The Dirty Dozen”, including: celery, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, potatoes, spinach, snap peas, sweet bell peppers among the vegetables, and apples, cherry, peaches, nectarines and strawberries from the fruits. In addition come the hot peppers, kale and collard greens.

Thence, as already mentioned, in order to make the conventional food healthy to consume at the same time people should wash it thoroughly and rinse away all of the chemicals and pesticides found on the surface of the product.

White vinegar is the perfect choice when it comes to washing fruits and vegetables. And the procedure of using it is pretty simple too.

Take a spray bottle and fill it with ¼ of vinegar and ¾ of water. Spray all of your fruit and veggies with it before consuming them. Brush them well with a scrub brush and afterwards just rinse them with plain water.

It is more than essential to do this with your food and especially if it’s not organically grown in order to prevent the organism from the harsh chemicals and pesticides to settle in and cause numerous diseases or chronic health conditions. Not only pesticides lead to learning disability, but to cancer too.

Practice this washing trick to all of your veggies and fruits and you’ll notice an improvement in your welfare in a no time. After all, it’s not only what you eat that matters, but now clean and natural the products actually are.
