There have been many rumors regarding the disgusting things contained in the McDonald’s food, from mechanically separated meat to pink slime.
Recently, the fast food chain admitted what actually their food contains. To battle the criticism, the company launched a PR campaign called “Our Food. Your Questions.” This campaign allows the costumers to see exactly how the food is made.
The McDonald’s Buns Contain Yoga Mat Chemical
McDonald’s denies the usage of many rumored substances in their burgers, including the pink slime. However, there are some other ingredients contained in the food, which safety of consumption is questionable.
One of these ingredients is the chemical additive azodicarbonamide used in their buns. This additive is the same substance found in the yoga mats.
According to the company, the usage of azodicarbonamide is completely safe. The fast food chain rejects the accusations that their food contains rubber or plastic and that this chemical is harmful since it can be used in different ways.
Apart from using azodicarbonamide, the company also admits that their food contains dimethylpolysiloxane. This substance is used as an anti-foaming agent in the McNugget frying oil. Nevertheless, the company states that their patties are 100% beef.
